When purchasing steroids from either domestic or overseas sources of the illicit variety, the user runs a pretty fair risk of obtaining drugs that aren’t of the highest quality. Many times, they’re actually completely fake. Other times, the compounds have been ‘watered down’ with other compounds, making them somewhat effective but not as useful as the full-dose steroid would be.
Sometimes, the drug is something else altogether, even something that can harm you. Here are a few of the potential effects one can see when using anabolic steroids.
After about one week using an oral steroid, you should begin to see a hardening of the muscles. You will either drop or hold a bit more water, depending upon that particular anabolic. Your strength will increase in about a week, along with aggression levels if you’re running anabolics. An increased level of leanness should take place as well. With injectable steroids, it can take as much as 2 to 4 weeks for the effects to become noticeable. Many steroid users will deem their injectable product counterfeit after 1-2 weeks of use without seeing any results. This is a very preventable mistake. If you’re not seeing the results you desire, give it at least a month before making any determination, assuming no negative health benefits are occurring.
If the steroid is a fake, and a harmless one at that, it’s likely you’ll simply see no change in your physique. Give it 4 to 6 weeks before determining the product is a fake, and do your research in the meantime to learn of any other negative experiences that users have had with the same compound or manufacturer.
If you become ill, immediately halt use of the steroid. Since you may be ordering from an overseas manufacturer with zero oversight, you will have no legal recourse for your illegal buy. Take the hit, throw out the drugs, and avoid buying from that source again. If your illness continues, see a doctor. Most of the time, minor toxicity or poisoning can be cured by drinking a lot of water to flush out your system. See a doctor immediately if any signs remain of actual damage.
Impure compounds often cause infection at the skin level when injected. These can occur with pure compounds as well, but as much less common. If you develop abscesses or a rash at several ‘shoot zones’, it’s likely your steroid is either impure or contains bacteria. Discard it and avoid purchasing from that seller in the future.
There are going to be times, when either due to mixing error, or a deliberate attempt to garner positive praise and public feedback for a particular manufacturer, that the drug you buy will be more potent than intended. Enjoy the added benefits and better bang for your buck, but be aware of the fact that your side effects will be greater as well.
Identifying fakes from their visual appearance becomes hard and harder each year. Use common sense, word-of-mouth, and online resources to identify fake steroids and avoid them at all costs!
